The Kayaking London centre is situated on the bank of the Thames in Chelsea and is a community facility opened in Lots Road, Chelsea, in 2008 by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It is run and supported by Epic CiC ELM which provides an active, inclusive and exciting programme for young people and the wider community. The centre, through its work with Kayaking London, is also the biggest deliverer of guided kayaking tours on the River Thames, these tours support the invaluable work of Epic CiC ELM engaging young people in Outdoor Learning Programmes.
The centre holds a number of independent quality assurance marks including an Adventures Activities Licence (AALA), British Canoeing Quality Mark and Learning Outside the Classroom badge (LOtC). The coaching and guiding is delivered by experienced and qualified staff to the highest of standards. Kayaking is delivered on the tidal River Thames as well as further afield, offering young people the opportunity to participate in offsite trips, residentials programmes, and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
