What a wonderful time our residents have had! This is the last session of 11, but don’t worry, our amazing tutor is coming back on 6th August for a further 8 weeks.

70’S DISCO DANCING

How would you like to come along to a 6 week activity where we will take you back to the good old 70’s!

Lots of fun and dancing for over 50’s – You will be able to join in at your own pace.

Lets rewind to the 70’s and bring back memories and all the fantastic music for you.

KNITTING CLUB

We are excited to resume our knitting club with AGEUK!

Sessions will resume on Wednesday 21st July from 10 – 11.30 and every week.

This club is open to over 50’s. We will supply everything, so just pop along and meet your fellow residents, whilst knitting and having a tea/coffee.

WELLBEING SESSIONS

PLEASE NOTE THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULLY BOOKED!

We will be holding wellbeing sessions which will include a Massage & Theatre trip.

Sessions will begin on Friday July 2nd for 7 weeks. Sessions will include many topics which everyone can relate to.

Numbers are limited and will be offered on a first come first serve basis.

ADULT FITNESS SESSIONS

Summer is around the corner and what better time to get fit & healthy..

We are offering our Big Local residents the opportunity to attend an 8 week fitness programme with a very skilled personal trainer!

This is a FREE course and will be offered on a first come first serve basis!

Here are a list of some of the benefits from exercising…

  • Promoting cardiovascular health.
  • Improving blood flow to the brain.
  • Reducing inflammation.
  • Lowering levels of stress hormones.

BOXING SESSIONS

Is your child 7 years or older and would like to join boxing sessions for an 8 week project?

We have a very experienced teacher who is really looking forward to teaching young people boxing techniques.

Sessions will begin in June from 11.00 – 12.00 every Sunday. Date will be confirmed soon.

SEATED MOVE TO MUSIC!

As part of our wellbeing support for our residents we will be offering you a chair based class

In the past we have worked closely with AGEUK to deliver chair based exercise, which has always been very popular! unfortunately they are not resuming sessions for the time being, we look forward to welcoming them back soon.

In the meantime, we are working with WEA to offer you exercise with a twist! you will be seated and make small and reachable movements to music.

This class will begin on May 6th for 8 weeks from 9.45 – 11.00.

If you are a pensioner or in receipt of benifits, you will be able to access this for FREE.

NEW YOUTH PROJECT!

Are you over 15 and would like to attend a project, which will begin on 19th April?

If the answer is yes, please contact us on 07464971428 for more information.

Sessions will take place on a Monday evening from 6 – 8.30pm. Hot food will be provided along with lots of discussions, activities and most importantly, what you want from the project! We are here to listen to you.

We have 3 very experienced and skilled facilitators who will deliver this project and work with our young people. We also have a local resident who will support these sessions.

TEACHING ASSISTANT L1

WEA are working with us to offer the following course…

We are in the process of provisionally booking another L1 course. This will begin in May, dependant on Government guidelines and numbers….

Once you have completed and passed L1 you will have the option to move onto L2 which is an accredited Teaching Assistant course.
